This exhibition was housed at the District Six museum in as part of the Cape Town Month of Photography in 2002 and was also exhibited at MuseumAfrika as part of the Bonani Africa exhibition in 2003.It comprises black and white as well as colour photographs. The colour photographs depict the cultural component of Muslims in the Cape Town. Birth, marriage and death are shown. So is celebration. It’s a local angle on Islam.
The black and white photographs talk about the compassion of this Muslim community. It comments on the global connectedness of Muslim communities by documenting the supportive response of this Muslim community to find solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Middle East.
